FISHING
Game fish are regularly released during the year. The lake also has a
natural stock of fish: pike, burbot, perch and whitefish. The lake has an area
of app. 32 ha and a max. depth of 11.6 m. Flyfishing, casting, angling and ice-fishing
are all allowed. Five fine, white rowing boats are available for hire. You can
also fish from the shore or jetties. In winter you can fish on the ice. Fishing
permits are sold on site, mainly at the coffee shop at Domarudden, beside
Drängsjön. You can also phone Domarudden to book a boat. There is a vending
machine for fishing permits for those who are early risers and/or just want to
fish from the shore or jetties. This is available outside the opening hours of
the coffee shop.
For
companies, schools, daycare centres and after-school centres and other groups
of 5-25 persons we offer a group fishing permit at a special price. This must
be reserved 1-2 weeks before the planned fishing day.
After a
hopefully lucky day of fishing you can cook your catch over a campfire while
you enjoy the view over the lake and watch the sun’s last rays shine on its
surface where the fish lie waiting. You can listen to the call of the loon and
the sounds of the night, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.
The
Österåker Sports Fishing Club (ÖSFK) also runs the Drängsjön Game Fish Project,
featuring fish and water environmental management in the lake and its feeder
streams and outlets. We also arrange fly fishing courses for women and men,
separately or mixed, at the Domarudden recreation centre. If you want to attend
a course as a beginner or add to your basic skills, please contact Jan Höglund, Phone: +46 8 54065955, mobile +46 70 5406819, E-mail: jan@osfk.org
FOOD & ACCOMMODATION
Although only
35 km from the big city’s noise and life, the peace and quiet here is more like
the forests of northern Sweden. Here you will have many opportunities to
experience nature that are out of the ordinary. Walk along part of the Roslagen
Trail and enjoy the beauties of nature. The forest has a wealth of wild life.
Perhaps a jogging round followed by relaxation in our wood-fired lakeside sauna
and then a dip in the lake. In winter: skiing or skating. Here you will find
many ways to concentrate and relax. You can take a break from your fishing over
a cup of coffee or hot chocolate and freshly baked bread, or a good meal in the
coffee shop or out on their deck. If you wish, you can stay overnight in one of
the pleasant guest cabins which have 4 beds in each of two rooms, with a common
shower and toilet per cabin (a total of 46 beds). There is also space for five
mobile homes, or you can tent in a forest meadow nearby. You may cook your own
food: we have a common room with a kitchenette and dining area. We can arrange
anything from conferences and company events, to customer get-togethers and
private parties - to suit your requirements. We are licensed to serve wine and
beer. We can also bring you from Åkersberga station in our minibus. The most
successful conference is surely a combination of work and play. Or what do you
say to a beer on the shore on a summer’s evening after a hot conference day? As
you can see, there are almost unlimited opportunities and our imagination will
take over where yours ends. Our conference facilities have modern equipment
with slide and overhead projectors, TV and video, and a copying machine. The
rooms hold 50+30+15 persons. To book, phone +46 (0)8 540 208 25, Fax +46 (0)8
