What fish can you catch?

In winter, there is naturally ice fishing and you can catch perch and pike. In some cases, herring. After the spring break-up, with a rise in water temperature, there is a chance to catch sea trout and salmon trout all the way into shallow inlets. Naturally there are bream and perch that are ready to spawn. Angling is best, but spinning or casting is also possible. Don’t forget our fine stocked pikeperch (walleye). And, above all, really indulge yourself in herring from one of the hidden reefs. You’ll find fish where you see other boats. But make sure you don’t catch more than you can use.It is hard to predict what summer fishing will be like, but angling is always a good bet. The problem may be to find worms. Try fishing in Lake Drängsjön at the Domarudden recreation centre, which is stocked with rainbow trout and brook trout. A special fishing permit is required. In the autumn the big perch and pike return to shallower waters. There’s a good chance for sea trout now. If you want to fish with a net you must have the water-owner’s permission, or become a member of the Österåker Sports Fishing Club (ÖSFK) so that you can fish in the municipality’s coastal waters and also use the club’s beautifully situated cabin, with its wood-fired sauna at Stora Mossön. And don’t forget your life jacket!
